Banana Bread

its rare when our bananas get brown spots because my kids eat them like crazy...
but when they do we make banana bread.

my little guy is the greatest sous chef in the world. if daddy is cooking on the grill he is right there behind him and if i'm cooking in the kitchen he's jumping to get on the counter. maybe he'll be a amazing chef someday like guy fieri and make us yummy food all the time.

a mom can dream.

this recipe is a tweaked one from my grandmas kitchen:

Banana Bread

3/12 C Flour
2 C Mashed Bananas (4-6)
2 TBL Lemon Juice
3/4 C Canola Oil
1 1/2 C Sugar
3 Eggs
3/4 C Milk

Preheat oven to 350

Mash bananas, add lemon juice and mix.
Cream oil and sugar with mixer at medium speed.
Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy (4 min).
Add flour and milk alternately. Mix.
Fold in bananas. Beat well.

Pour into two 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 x 2 1/2 loaf pans.

Bake for one hour or until cake tester comes out clean.

Cool in pans 10 min. Then cool on wire rack.

this time we added in some honey, cinnamon, a pinch of salt and blueberries. i don't know for sure but i think thats a little bit of a sin when it comes to baking. none of it measured. sometimes the chef in us just calls us to do crazy things.

enjoy!
